We all have plenty of time to look for the best bargains for eye exams and eyewear and contacts and spend hours getting to the bottom of the best deals, right? Yeah…right. As a legally blind contact and glasses wearer for more than 40 years, I have always struggled to remember when my prescription expires or which glasses companies and contact makers offer deals or honor warranties. In other words, before I located this Clever Chica Extraordinare, Christene Delk, my eye care was a mess. By proxy, so was the eye care life of my family! But Christene changed all that, and for the past ten years, she’s also become a trusted family friend who never fails to demonstrate what the power of kindness can do.
As our family travels a lot and cannot really walk across the room safely without some sort of eye wear, we could easily feel at the mercy of eye care providers, and before Christine and her colleagues at the Target Optical Center in Town n’ Country, Florida, we often did. Experienced and well-trained, Christene understands the stress of trying to take care of your eyes without having to keep another job just to finance it. She’s always patient and kind in making sure that every purchase is best for our health first…then possible for our pocketbook.
Those who work with her and rely on her kind patience will tell you readily that Christene cares about every one in her path—every individual. She remembers that my son likes a particular brand of disposable lenses—and she remembers why he likes them. She remembers that I need a particular kind of lens to cope with my bizarre myopia. And I hear her remembering similar details for patients every time I visit her optical center. Impressive.
This Clever Chica shows us that hard work and putting your patients first makes a real difference—every day. Thank you, Christene, for always putting us first and for always making us feel important and heard. You are what this project is all about, and we appreciate your smile, your style, and your kind, warm heart.
